Missions & The Wardrobe Clothing Bank

Community Support

FPC strives to be a blessing to our Neighbors near and far.

We open our facility to serve the needs of the community through the Wardrobe Clothing Bank which provides free gently used clothing for folks who find themselves in need.

First Pres also provides space for community clubs and dinners such as Souper Saturdays which provides a free community meal every Saturday at 6 pm.

Because we love to see all the kids in costume and to spread joy we host an annual Trunk or Treat at Halloween.  We also hold a community worship service in the Tenino City Park during Oregon Trail Days.

We have also engaged in Missional Projects like spearheading community work parties in the City Park.

Missions

We support both local and foreign missions.  We give materially and monetarily to the Tenino Community Service Center/Tenino Food Bank Plus. First Pres a history of opening Hope House to AA and WIC (Women, Infants and Children) and those in need of an emergency shelter.  We contribute to many local drives for food and school supplies. Around the holidays we assemble foster boxes to support foster children in transition in Thurston County, Washington and create a giving tree to benefit local families in need of support at Christmas.

On a global scale we support the mission of our Presbytery and the Presbyterian Church USA through special offerings like One Great Hour of Sharing and purchasing animals from the Presbyterian Giving Catalog.

The Wardrobe

The Wardrobe is a clothing ministry that started in the spring of 2025. Jesus calls us to help those who are in need. Those in need of clothing may come on Thursdays from 9:30 am – 11:30 am and “shop” for up to 3 outfits per person per month.

“Come, you that are blessed by my Father, inherit the kingdom prepared for you from the foundation of the world; 35 for I was hungry and you gave me food, I was thirsty and you gave me something to drink, I was a stranger and you welcomed me, 36 I was naked and you gave me clothing, I was sick and you took care of me, I was in prison and you visited me.” Matthew 25:34-36 RNSV

We now have two rooms of clothing: one for teens and adults, and the other for ages 0-12

Donations are accepted of clean and gently used or new clothing only. We are limited in space and are therefore only taking some women’s clothing. Men’s and children’s clothing are always welcome. Please no toys or household goods.
